SITE - A flat site in a pine glen at the foot of a fifty foot limestone cliff in the foothills of the Sierras. A waterfall cascades off the cliff, flowing into a stream lined with fieldstone and slate.
PROGRAM - A small non-denominational wedding and meditation chapel. Stone found on site including sandstone, limestone, slate, marble and travertine must be the primary building material. The building is to blend visually and possibly physically into the waterfall, stream or pine glen. Natural lighting is encouraged especially on the Nave. Parking is about a five minute walk and is not part of the design program.
