This home is located in Black Rock City, just north of Phoenix, Arizona. It is located on an urban street lot. The Client wanted to integrate load bearing principals into the design so the north side of the house is load bearing while the south, east, and west walls are post and beam. It has a frontal (south facing) garage as well as master bedroom suite, so in order to bring sunlight into the rest of the house a upper clerestory window was added. This brings winter sun directly into the living space to warm it and keeps the summer sun out, for cooling. As the pictures suggest it is still in construction.
